Speech & Language Services
☻
Pediatric Language & Articulation
I provide speech and language therapy for children working to develop their expressive and receptive language skills and/or improve their speech intelligibility. While these services are often provided through schools, additional individualized therapy at Roseway Speech and Literacy can provide your child with more opportunities to practice and build these skills—helping them become confident, effective communicators.
❋
Pediatric Literacy
I’m passionate about helping children become confident readers. At Roseway Speech and Literacy, I provide individualized reading therapy focused on foundational skills like letter sounds, phonological awareness, blending, and segmenting. One-on-one support allows us to target your child’s needs and build strong reading skills at their pace. We can take the time to build the skills your child needs to become a successful reader.
✦
Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
With over 8 years of experience supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), I help children and families build confident communication skills across everyday settings. At Roseway Speech and Literacy, I provide individualized, in-home AAC therapy using Core Word and literacy-based approaches to seamlessly integrate AAC into familiar daily routines.
✿
Adult Speech, Language & Voice
I love working with adults to improve communication skills and confidence. I provide individualized therapy for speech clarity, healthy voice use, and language skills following stroke or traumatic brain injury (TBI). Whether you want to communicate more effectively at work, connect with loved ones, or navigate everyday conversations, our speech therapy is tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
How it works
Free screening!
1. Start with a Free Screening
We’ll start with a free screening to learn more about your concerns and determine whether speech therapy may be a good fit for yourself or your child or family.
2. Complete an Evaluation
If an evaluation is recommended, I’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment to better understand your strengths, challenges, and goals. Together, we’ll discuss the results and determine whether ongoing speech therapy is appropriate.
3. Begin Individualized Therapy
If therapy is recommended, we’ll create a personalized plan based on your goals and needs. Sessions are designed to be practical, engaging, and relevant to everyday life, with ongoing communication about progress and next steps.

About me
Portland-based Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi! I am Kayleigh Schmidt, M.S. CCC-SLP
I have over 7 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist working across a variety of settings. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) before moving to Chicago, where I worked for Chicago Public Schools and at an Alzheimer’s research lab at Northwestern University.
I moved back to Oregon in 2025 and now provide remote speech-language services in schools and work at a local hospital. I’m passionate about helping young children and their families develop strong early communication skills, supporting children as they learn to read and discover a love of reading, and helping children who struggle with articulation and speech clarity. I also have extensive experience supporting AAC users and their families.
